Informative vs. Persuasive Speech

• In my persuasive speech I said "um" way to much. In my informative I did that also just not as much.
• My hand gestures and enthusiasm was still lacking but it was an improvement from my informative speech.
• I still need to look towards the edges more. That is one thing I didn't do in either of my speeches.
• In both speeches I think I did well with my speed. I think I spoke slowly and people were able to understand me.
• My hook improved. I didn't have one in my informative and I had a good hook in my persuasive.

How to speech review

Strengths:

• I made good eye contact with the audience.
• I made a good connections with my topic.
• I spoke slowly and clearly.

Weaknesses:

• I didn't show how to do the wrist shot clearly.
• I didn't show enthusiasm.
• I could have expanded more on my actual topic.
• My speech was out of order.
• I need to speak louder.
• I needed a conclusion.

Speech 2

Throughout my speech I noticed many things I needed to change. For example I looked at my note cards frequently and there were instinces where I looked at my card up to ten seconds. I also was rocking back and forth the whole speech. I lacked enthusiasm which is important to do. I didn't use hand gestures. I also repeated myself a lot on some statistics. So i also need more structure.

During my speech I needed to use my note card more so I could stay on topic and say what I actually wanted to say. I also needed to keep my hands out of my pockets and speak a little slower at times.

Character replacements

I chose Russell Crowe for Gremio because he would fit well for the character.

I chose Zac Efron for Lucentio because Zac Efron pretty boy and so does Lucentio.

I chose Johnny Depp for Hortensio because he is deceitful in most movies.

I chose Mel Gibson for Petruchio because seems like he would do a lot for money.

I chose Geoffrey from Fresh Prince of Bel Air for Tranio because he was also a servant.

I chose Shawn Connery for Baptista because he seems like he would be that kind of father.

I Chose Jessica Alba for Bianca because Jessica Alba is very pretty and Bianca is suppose to be pretty as well.

I chose Rasputia for Katherine because Rasputia is the biggest shrew i have ever seen in a movie.

Anecdote- I think a good example of anecdote would be Dane Cook. Dane Cook is a comedian he tells all of his jokes in story form. An example is when he's talking about accidents and how everybody loves them. He said he was sleeping then he heard the sound of a car skid then he shot up and then he got mad because there was no crash. Then he heard another sound of a car skid then he heard the crash and jumped out of his bed and couldn't find his shoes and instead of looking for them he went outside to see what happened.

Farce- An good movie example of a farce is Delta Farce. In this movie Larry loses his job then his girlfriend all on the same day. Then joins his neighbor then ends up getting mistaken for recruits then sent to Iraq.




Parody- A parody is when someone copies someone but changes the words around. Wierd Al Yakovich makes a living off of doing this. One of his songs are "White and Nerdy" which is a parody of "Riding Dirty".

Satire- The show The Simpsons is a good example of satire. The main thing that thats satirical about The Simpsons is religion. They take a lot of shots at religion in the show. An example of this is the church scene from The Simpsons movie.

Hi My name is Travis Rosa, I am 16 years old, and I go to Anderson. I was not born in Ohio, and my home town is Long Island, New York. I lived there until i was 7 years old then moved here. My favorite sports are hockey, football, basketball, and golf. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch. My favorite team is the New York Rangers, but that is the only New York team I like every other team I pretty much hate. But the only sport I play is golf and I hope to make the golf team next year.
